Although it focuses on attributions of attitude (here belief), it ranges over a wide range of issues in the philosophy of language. It may well be considered the fourth lecture for Naming and Necessity. </li><li>As Kripke notes, in that work he advocated a Millian position for <a name="1"></a><A HREF="../../Notes/Notes_1/Notes_121.htm">modal</A><SUP>2</SUP> contexts but appeared to advocate a non-Millian account for epistemic contexts. How to resolve this tension?
