[Meincke (Anne Sophie)]

This Page provides links to the Books and Papers (including Book Chapters, where I have itemised these) by this Author contained in my collection. Clearly, there may be many more works in the Author's oeuvre that I don't possess. An introductory note on the Author appears first. If any (other) Authors, Books, Papers or Notes in my collection cite this Author, a table of links is provided before the list of the Author's works. Scroll down or follow the links above.

Author Narrative:
  1. Taken from her Academia.edu page:-
    • I am working at the intersection of metaphysics (broadly construed) and philosophy of biology.
    • My main focus is on developing a comprehensive bio-processual metaphysics of the human person1 that acknowledges the fact that human persons2 are organisms3 and, i.e., stabilised higher-order biological processes.
    • I want to show that a bio-processual perspective sheds new light on old metaphysical problems such as identity over time, agency and free will4.
    • This will eventually contribute to a more appropriate general metaphysical picture of the world, including scientifically-informed concepts5 of life, causation6 and time.
    • See Anne Sophie Meincke: Home Page for more information on my research topics.
  2. She is the Editor, along with John Dupré of "Meincke (Anne Sophie) & Dupre (John), Eds. - Biological Identity: Perspectives from Metaphysics and the Philosophy of Biology", published on 26th August 2020. Unfortunately, the book costs over £100 in hardback.
  3. It looks like she was known by her married name between 2012-14 when she was known as Anne Sophie Spann (nee Meincke). On Academia.edu she currently has (Spann) after her name.
  4. She's a part of Elselijn Kingma's team at Southampton investigating the metaphysics of Pregnancy7. See Anne Sophie Meincke (Southampton University Page).
