Amazon Product DescriptionThe Tudor period is still personified by the houses that remain standing in our towns and villages. Black and white timber framed buildings 'jettying' out between more recent bland structures, and rambling rows of quaint cottages around a green. This book sets out to explain the rich range of houses built during the Tudor period.
Amazon Customer ReviewThis small paperback (about 6" x 8" with 63 pages) is a very nice guide to Tudor architecture, style and construction. It is profusely illustrated with black and white photographs, line drawings, sketches, and floor plans. It describes the social context that gave rise to these houses, explains construction methods, and defines architectural terms. It is well-organized with concise text - all in all, a very good reference for this style.
