• Grade: Where a piece is on the syllabus for the Trinity Guildhall exams, the grade is given.
• Latest Audio: If I’ve made an audio recording, the latest was on the date given. Clicking on the date takes you to the corresponding row in a table of recordings on my Music Page², from which the audio can be played, and any comments I had noted.
• Practice?: Most pieces have been set for me at one time or another by my teacher, but those flagged “Yes” were set at my last lesson (or subsequently) for current practice.
• Exclude?: Those flagged “Yes” are nothing to do with my oboe lessons. Usually they are related to the Enigma Ensemble (Defunct) or duets with my wife Julie or my friend Dave.
• From Memory?: I decided to record separately time spent attempting to play by ear, or by memory (which is not quite the same thing). As can be seen, not much time spent, and precious little success. I’ve no idea how to do it, and any progress will have to await a considerable effort to train my ear (using Earmaster).
• Hours since last lesson: As it says, the last lesson having been on 13/03/2020.
• Total Hours: As is says. Strictly, the time spent since October 2018, though I doubt I’d been set many of these pieces before then.
• Annual Breakdown: by academic year, ie. October to the following September.
